Today in honor of Colleen, the Gleason family and their close friends, Jeff and Christy Larkins, participated as Red Shoe Society members in the Ronald McDonald House Charities Annual Golf Classic at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club.
Christine relayed, “Fun day at Cog Hill Country Club for an excellent cause, Red Shoe Society Chicago. The guys played well but mainly had a fun day.” Christine and Christy were volunteers today. Their job was on hole 4 which was a par 3 and closest to the pin.
Whether on the course at Cog Hill or through the virtual tournament, this support helped more families get better together.
Christine further explains her ongoing motivation to continue Colleen’s meaningful work with Red Shoe:

Our #waybackwednesday is dedicated to honoring the life of our forever friend, family, and RSS board member Colleen Gleason. ❤️
Colleen was a warrior who survived two heart transplants (at age 3 and 20), but even with her own health problems she will be most remembered for spending those moments praying for other adolescents around her to get better and serving her community through volunteering and holding a role of Co-Chair of Family Enrichment on Red Shoe Society of Chicago’s leadership board.
She would also share what it was like to grow up staying at @rmhccni and how much joy it brought her to stay close to her brothers, parents and other family members! We were so grateful Colleen shared these special moments because this is why @rmhccni mission to #keepingfamiliesclose matters!
While it’s been almost a year without seeing our friend’s smile, we want encourage all of our RSS members to help join Colleen’s Family and Friends honor the life of her beautiful soul on Sunday, June 27th at 10:30 am. That day we will share stories/memories of Colleen and honor her legacy by fundraising for causes that Colleen truly cared about, including Red Shoe Society.
