Annual Toy Drive For Lurie Children’s Hospital

Dec 1, 2022

Colleen Cares is fundraising during this season of giving to help bring joy to the patients at Lurie Children’s, and we hope you will help us!

For families who spend long days at the hospital, a new toy or game can make a big difference, and help that experience be less stressful for grown-us and less scary for patients. The Patient Play and Toy Fund at Lurie Children’s is supported by philanthropy so that every child has access to age-appropriate toys and games at no cost to their family.

We appreciate all our supporters and donors. It is because of you that Colleen Cares makes donations in Colleen’s name and in memory of her giving spirit.

Here are a few examples of how your generous donation can help:

  • $10 can provide a jigsaw puzzle to help patients’ coordination and focus

  • $25 can supply crayons, paper, paint and other arts and crafts supplies to provide opportunities for creativity and relaxation

  • $50 can provide board games for all ages

  • $100 can help create sensory kits stocked with items to help support and calm patients with disabilities and sensory or mental health issues who may have more difficulty

  • $150 help purchase iPads to provide engaging digital opportunities patients

  • $500 can support the Family Services team who purchases and distributes toys and supports patients and their families during difficult times

  • $1,000 can purchase 10 adaptive communication toys for patients to take home

You have our gratitude for considering us this holiday season in your year-end giving.

All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Colleen Cares

Colleen led the way in organizing her own toy drive while she herself was a patient waiting for her second heart transplant.

Because of you, patients and families experiencing
medical crises are being supported in many meaningful ways.

Colleen’s giving spirit put a smile on so many faces!
